Thank you for visiting my website!
I am an artist and educator with leadership in managing both professional and community-based arts initiatives in Chicago. As an artist, I currently focus primarily on leading murals for schools and community spaces. In the past six years I have created more than two dozen large-scale works for schools, churches, playgrounds, and community centers. Many mural projects are collaborations with my husband, artist Dustin Harris. Together we run the company
Mix Masters Murals -- check us out for a full portfolio of projects.
For youth, I have founded, managed and taught youth programs with Columbia College, Urban Gateways, City of Evanston, Chicago Humanities Festival, After School Matters, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Art Encounter, in over 25 Chicago Public Schools from Rogers Park to Englewood.
I have received numerous grants for both professional and educational efforts in the city of Chicago, including being a thrice recipient of the City of Chicagos Neighborhood Arts Program grant in 2007, 2008, and 2009, for murals at CPS Boone School on themes of school values, US History, and Healthy Eating. For my professional work, I was awarded a City of Chicago CAAP grant in 2008 to support promotional materials, and in 2009 I won the Wacker Drive Portrait Contest, run by the citys Public Arts Program.
